The key reason I didn’t back this is that the change of spelling from “Roman” to “Ruman” annoyed me too much when reading the description.

Yeah, this looks pretty awful.
Paul Mitchener well to be fair, the Romans are quite protective of their IP.
And they didn’t rename their gods! Manarva, Vynos, Yries, whatever.
The mish-mash of real names, fake names and re-skinned cultures just feels like a hot mess to me. And is it just DW in Roman cosplay or does Roman culture actually matter in some way?
There’s a little-known game, Roma Imperious, that probably does this better. It’s a pretty trad system, but it seems well-researched.
