I am not a huge fan of cooperative board games, but playing with a kid changes that. Hoot Hoot Owl is just terrific for this, the perfect activity.

If you’re looking for an element of mild competition in a kid-friendly game, my friends’ 5-year-old really likes The Enchanted Tower.
Love Hoot Owl Hoot. Such a great example of how to turn the mindlessness of Candy Crush into a light, approachable strategic experience.
