NewMexicon hit their stretch goal so I’m now officially a spotlight GM! Go read my absurd gamer bio. Gamer bio!
In retrospect I should’ve posted my stats.
Anyway, despite my spotlightedness it’s still the best regional con: indie focus, all private rooms, pitched sessions (way better than that may sound if you’ve never experienced such a thing), cool town for after-hours shenanigans.
I wish there was a Chicago con like this 🙁
Aaron Griffin Forge Midwest I think is the template convention for this kind of con. Mark Delsing isn’t that in Chicago? Joe Beason ?
Every time someone asks me to write a gamer bio I have a laugh attack.
Paul Beakley Forge Midwest is in Madison, WI, but a lot of Chicago peeps trek over.
The main problem with hosting a con in Chicago is $$$$$.
Sign me up for Beason con where we play games at Joe’s house and he cooks amazing food.
Honestly the games are optional at that point.
wut? Beason Con?? WHEN?? I’m there!
Forge Midwest spent 2 years in Chicago before heading to Madison. Chicago was nice because it meant more remote people could fly in easily. But Madison is a much nicer venue for the money.
What Jeremiah Frye said. And Ralph Mazza is right. The hotel Willow books for FMW is insanely crazy cheap-but-clean. Sure, you don’t get a private room for every event, but there’s usually enough space so things don’t feel cramped. Plus, there’s plenty of food nearby and traffic is non-existent.
Anyway, Aaron Griffin, get on that.
Back on topic, a) that is a solid bio, and 2) WOW that hotel is nice.
This con sounds awesome and I’m gonna try to go in 2020 once I’m out of school.
