That’s fascinating. I’ve tried GLP-1 twice (last year, and this), and never experienced the “meh” effect. I only learned about it last week, and then I saw yours. (That said, I also lost almost no weight, so maybe whatever makes it work on most people that didn’t work on me also didn’t affect the enthusiasm part of my brain.) However, the most interesting thing to me is that I don’t see you saying that you wish you still had that excitement for the fantasy of playing any specific game with friends, etc. — you seem to feel that the trade-off is acceptable, since you’re obviously benefiting from a health standpoint.
I’ve never been able to establish the kind of regular in-person play you’ve obviously been able to; my excitement over games has always been almost entirely theoretical, throughout the past 40+ years. I’ll be interested to learn how you make your way forward. (All best wishes to you, of course.)
